Description:

This training will explore the intersection of sustainable finance and law in the context of hospitality management, examining how legal frameworks and financial instruments can be used to advance sustainability goals in the hospitality industry, as well as of the pending policy changes at the EU and national level (where applicable). Trainees will learn about the principles of sustainable finance, the legal frameworks governing sustainable finance and law in hospitality management, and the various financial instruments available for sustainable investment. The training will cover topics such as environmental law, climate change, social responsibility, and governance in the hospitality industry. Trainees are provided with a valuable toolbox that allows them to aid their businesses to be forerunners in a race that yields additional premium for the first-movers, e.g. the timely sustainable transition of businesses.

 

Goals and Objectives:

  • Analyze the legal frameworks governing sustainable finance and law in the hospitality industry and the various financial instruments available for sustainable investment in hospitality

  • Be aware of the issue of policy incoherence that influences businesses decisions on sustainable business practices and how to harvest the existing incoherence to the benefit of the company.

Training Format

The training will be delivered on site, using a combination of live video sessions and interactive discussions. Trainees will be expected to develop an action plan for implementing sustainable practices in their own hospitality operations within 4 weeks of taken the training. The training will culminate when learners will present their action plans for feedback and evaluation to our experts. 

The trainer should also provide support and feedback to the learners throughout the course. Additional support may include peer learning, mentorship, resource materials, and technical assistance for practical implementation.​
