This training will explore the intersection of hotel development and biodiversity preservation, examining the ways in which hotels can be designed, built, and managed to minimize their impact on biodiversity and maximize their potential to support conservation efforts. Trainees will learn about the importance of biodiversity, the threats facing biodiversity in the context of hotel development, and the strategies and tools available to promote biodiversity conservation in hotel development. The training will cover topics such as sustainable architecture and design, eco-tourism, natural resource management, and community engagement. Trainees will also have the opportunity to engage in case studies and practical exercises to apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios in hotel development.

Training Format

The training will be delivered on site, using a combination of live video sessions and interactive discussions. Trainees will be expected to develop an action plan for implementing sustainable practices in their own hospitality operations within 4 weeks of taken the training. The training will culminate when learners will present their action plans for feedback and evaluation to our experts. 

The trainer should also provide support and feedback to the learners throughout the course. Additional support may include peer learning, mentorship, resource materials, and technical assistance for practical implementation.​
